Why? you ask? We will open the bottom and top, creating a "tube" of sorts. Then
we will pull petticoats (fluffy underskirt) through them for storage!

A monthly
update from a Friend of YES...
December, 2008
A Friend Like You...
Ali Baba had his forty thieves; we need forty times four to make the
latest production a success. I do not I have a magic lamp, nor a
Genie, but I do have numerous Friends of YES who are willing to give
of their time, money, abilities, or other talents.
We are looking for
people who can sew, staple, paint. move sets, help kids backstage,
or just help in general. I am hoping you might be interested in
getting involved with YES Company in some form. I have been involved
with YES Company for the past 8 years. I had no theatre experience
prior to my initial introduction helping move costumes from the
"costume shoppe" to the theatre and then helping-out backstage.
Every show, I am always amazed at the imagination and technique that
goes into each production. I have no sewing "prowess", nor do I have
any talent building sets or props, but since becoming involved with
YES Company I have now attempted to accomplish both tasks. The point
being, you need no experience to become involved with this wonderful
program, just get involved.
With the expansion of YES Company to now include YES Kids and the
newest addition YES Kiddettes we need more volunteers than ever
before. I am always amazed at the dedication, work ethic and
unselfish dedication the kids involved with this company
demonstrate. If you missed the recent production of Disney's The
Jungle Book, Kids by the YES Kiddettes you missed being
transported to a jungle full of tigers, snakes, a huge bear and some
of the cutest elephants I have ever seen. Every time I am fortunate
enough to watch a YES production I am amazed at the talent of the
children involved and the tremendous dedication from all the facets
behind the scenes.
So check your calendars...Friends of YES meet the first Thursday of
every month at YES Company's home office across the street from VCHS
on Campus Way in Modesto. And don't miss the next opportunity to be
swept away as Jasmine and Aladdin take us on" a magic carpet ride."
"Don't you dare close your eyes" (or turn your backs) to the
talented youth of Stanislaus County.
Come join us and "Be a Friend like Me"!

STEERING COMMITTEE
The Friend of YES are seeking year-long commitments to the
charter Steering Committee. Aside from meeting monthly to ensure the
support of YES Company's constant operations, focus on increasing
the income and volunteerism for each of the productions and special
events will remain the key priority for the FOY Steering Committee.
