For those who were not cast and
alternates...
Thank
you for your interest in YES Company and
for participating in the audition for
the summer production of The Music
Man. Nearly 200 teens vied for a
position in either the cast or the crew.
Unfortunately, there are limited acting
and crew spaces available. My sincere
wish is that you won’t be discouraged
because you were not chosen for this
particular production. Casting is a
very difficult procedure. There were
several YES Company alumni that I was
unable to cast in order to give others a
chance to experience the YES Company
program. During the audition process I
had to take into consideration a variety
of elements:
-
Schedule conflicts, i.e. summer
school, camp, jobs, casting in other
community productions, and
vacations.
-
Your level of commitment.
-
Your ability to adapt to the
audition process and others.
-
Your attitude, confidence, comfort
and enthusiasm expressed during the
audition.
-
A
balanced diversity of entire cast
i.e. age, grade, school, level of
talent, etc.
-
The number of spaces available for
cast members.
I
realize that some of you have auditioned
more than once and have not been
accepted. Don’t give up! Before I
close, I want to share ones student’s
story. She has auditioned for three
summer productions and finally, this
year, she is in the cast. I encourage
you to audition again next year.
Once again, I must express my sincere
appreciation for the time you invested
at the auditions. I know the courage it
takes to go through this process.
Please continue to participate in the
arts.
Warmly,
Melanee A. Wyatt
Founding Artistic Director/Choreographer
of YES Company

For those who were cast...CONGRATULATIONS!
Out of nearly 200 applicants you
have been accepted as a cast member
for the 2010 YES COMPANY production
of The Music Man.
Casting this production was very
difficult.
